Growing Up

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I will be looking for the best acne treatment around in the next few months. No not for me (for once!!!), for my 11 year old son. Yesterday—I actually popped a zit on his cheek. It hurt so bad that he wouldn’t even let me near the one on his forehead. Poor kid! Puberty is such a hard time–and talk about embarrassing! What’s amazing is it doesn’t seem like all that long ago I was knee deep in it–and now my kids are getting to that age. I know everyone always says this growing up thing goes so fast, but you know what…I had NO idea!

Florida Here We Come

I’ve been looking for some really good Daytona Beach hotel deals. Actually, I’ll settle for just the deal–it doesn’t even need to be “good”! My husband is heading south in 13 days to spend 3 weeks in the sand and sun. Ok, not really—he’s working! They are opening a new hospital down there, and they are using his companies computer products. So he is going down to set it all up and to train the employees how to use it. Three weeks is way to long to hang out in Florida with kids who need to be in school, but there is a long weekend in there–and I intend to surprise him for it! Yeah—I didn’t mention the kids in the surprise did I? That’s cause they aren’t going! They are staying with my sister, and we are having a romantic getaway! He just doesn’t know it yet!

Gotta Do Better

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I read this online today, and it really made me laugh.  I was such a better mom before I had kids.  You know, I had lofty goals and ideas on just how life would go.  I think it went something like me having fresh baked muffins every morning before the kids headed to school.  Or me being the “cool” mom in the neighborhood, out playing football with my boys and their friends.  I’m not even sure they think I’m cool enough to invite to play, and I’m certain my ’skillz’ are outta date as well!  I would need to find and invest in some fat burners, and who knows—maybe I’ll regain my “Cool” card!

Not much of my original blueprint is in tact.  Rarely do they get anything I thought would be so fun.  In fact, most of the time, I’m just happy their actually fed before their heads hit the pillow at night!

I gotta get better!
